︎ How might we empower 5-7 year old children (while also engaging their parents) to create opportunities for “risky play” so kids feel more confident navigating their physical environments?

︎︎︎ Designed and prototyped for Senior Studio

Risky play, defined as thrilling play with the possibility of physical injury, has been shown to improve kid’s risk-assessment and creative problem-solving.

CareGo Lunch Tote

Product Design, Soft Goods, User Research

DEC - 2023

︎ How might we uplift care workers working in private home spaces?

︎︎︎ Created in How Do We Work? with Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton.

A bag designed for domiciliary care workers to make break and meal times more predictable, comforting, and convenient. With a single unclasp, it unfolds into a stable lunch mat that enables on-the-go eating — on your lap, in your car, on the train, or even outdoors. The bag has built-in compartments for two meal containers, a drink, utensils, and comes with a collapsible pouch that doubles as a phone stand.

Leveraging the role of food as a vital connection point in the ways we show and receive care, this project aims to serve a crucial workforce that is so used to giving, but so seldom receives anything in return.

With tactile building interactions and simple animal shapes, this toy introduces children to the basic building blocks of a food web — showing how they, too, play a role in shaping natural systems.
